Hope On A Mission is a 501(c)(3) street outreach organization ministering to the homeless, addicted women, men and children of the streets of Poughkeepsie, New York.

Looking for ways to participate? YOU can help US help our community, by sharing your time, talents, or treasures!! We welcome your compassion

Donations provide women and men with a meal or clean, dry clothing upon request, 24/7, 365 days a year. Additional monies go toward HOAM's daily operations, as well as toward its long-term goal of creating a space of refuge for women affected by homelessness and addiction. DONATE TIME:

Volunteer at one or more of our 4 weekly Pop-up Provisions Street Outreach events, see our calendar!

DONATE TALENTS

  • Make a casserole for one of our Pop-Up Provisions events

  • Bake cookies, 3-4 per baggie; brownies individually bagged

  • Make and bag hard-boiled eggs: two per baggie, shells on

  • Make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, bagged individually

  • Breakfast-to-go bags: fruit & grain bar, applesauce/yogurt, small water/juice box, cheese/peanut butter crackers, spoon & napkin

  • Write words of encouragement or simple prayers on colorful index cards, include stickers

DONATE NECESSITIES

Gather and/or bag up much needed items for distribution: (individually or in groups, make it a party!)

  • Baby Wipes, 15-20 per baggie

  • Women’s panties, sizes 5-6-7

  • Men’s boxer briefs, L & XL

  • Women’s & men’s socks

  • First aid/wound care kits

  • Travel size toiletries

Purchase items for our meal services and blessing bags:

Single-serve chips, cookies, crackers, pudding/Jell-O, applesauce, fruit & grain bars

  • Juice boxes or pouches

  • Bottled water

  • Juice boxes/pouches

  • Plastic forks/spoons

MAKE A BAG, BE A BLESSING!

Each quart-size baggie could contain: Travel-size: shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, Colgate wisps single-use toothbrush, lip balm, razor, tissue, comb/brush. Each week we hand out nearly 300 blessing bags to individuals at our events.

CLOTHING DONATIONS

GUIDELINES:

  • We make appointments for Monday pickups, one week in advance. We DO NOT have drop-off locations.

  • Clean, intact, casual/sport, seasonally appropriate items for women and men.

  • Women’s sizes small & medium

  • Men’s sizes medium & large

  • No Business clothing

  • Up to 3, 13 gallon kitchen bags per appointment; no boxes, please!! (Share your abundance amongst other community collection sites.)
